T. Richard Stroupe is a highly accomplished, entrepreneurial leader with extensive experience in business startup/growth, board governance, system/software development, education, and technical consulting. Mr. Stroupe is a competitive visionary with an innate ability to advise organizations in today’s challenging economy utilizing an objective approach to conceptualize and implement effective strategies and solutions. He offers exceptional experience building, selling, and assisting new/existing startups and small businesses to become profitable growth organizations.
From 2001 to 2009, Mr. Stroupe founded and grew TRS Consulting, Inc. from a concept to a $14M company prior to acquisition. He established the strategic vision and led operations, finance, business development, and the design/delivery of agile based standards around open source solutions. Mr. Stroupe effectively established TRS as an advocate for innovation/change and proven leader within the US Intelligence Community. TRS was recognized as one of the fastest growth companies in the Washington, DC area in 2008 and 2009. It was also named the #1 “Best Place to Work” in the midsize category by the Washington Business Journal in 2009. TRS was acquired by NCI Information Systems in 2009 and Mr. Stroupe served as Sr. Vice President and General Manager for NCI until 2011.
In April 2011, Mr. Stroupe founded Crimson Holdings, LLC and Crimson Consulting Group, LLC and currently serves as Managing Principal for both entities partnering with entrepreneurs and advising startups. He manages a balance angel investment fund and assists clients in making decisions regarding leadership, strategy, operations, mergers/acquisitions, technology, corporate governance, organizational structures, and negotiations. Mr. Stroupe is also an Investing Member within Blu Venture Investors, a venture capital investment company based in Vienna VA supporting early stage entrepreneurs.
In June 2012, Mr. Stroupe co-founded Sequoia Holdings, Inc and currently serves as President and CEO offering high-end software development and engineering services for the US Intelligence Community centered on improving intelligence collection, collaboration, and information sharing. Sequoia provides engineering and analytic solutions to the national security sector, including the US Intelligence, defense and homeland security communities. Sequoia has established itself as a leader in assisting the national security sector with strategy, architecture, migration and development solutions in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud for the Intelligence community or C2S Cloud.
Mr. Stroupe also currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University teaching Launching Technical Ventures for the School of Engineering and Applied Science and previously served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Georgetown University assisting the Director of Entrepreneurship as a mentor and advisor to students targeting entrepreneurial careers.
Mr. Stroupe received his Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from The George Washington University, Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Appalachian State University and is a graduate of the Owner/President Management Program (OPM) from Harvard Business School.
