ABOUT ARMAND SHANK: Emigrating from Italy around 1913 at the age of 17, company founder John Rocchi worked for many years for a Baltimore general contractor. During WW 2, as part of the war effort he was employed by Bethlehem Steel at Sparrows Point, and following the war, his two sons-in-law returned from active duty and joined Mr. Rocchi to start the business in 1946. Officially incorporating the company in 1956, Mr. Rocchi retired around 1960 and the business was taken over by his son-in-law, Peter Peri. In 1969 Armand Shank, the son-in-law of Peter Peri, joined the firm following two years in the US Army.
In 1984, Armand took on the ownership of the firm. Since that time, the company has expanded into a large variety of projects ranging from small renovations to over $20 million in size. The geographic area has also expanded to Northern Virginia, DC, Delaware and Philadelphia. The majority of the projects come from repeat clients and referrals. Rocchi specializes in assisting clients from their initial concept through design and construction and are relied on as creative problem solvers dedicated to customer satisfaction.
