Tapad’s culture is governed by a “living” constitution. The constitution is full of employee-developed standards like “fight like underdogs for every inch” and “build our brand for the long haul; integrity first.” The result of the constitution is a flat organization where all team members can contribute, and are respected, appreciated and understood. “The employee-driven nature of Tapad means there is always room for change, suggestions and improvements,” says Are Traasdahl. Some of these improvements have included an unlimited vacation policy, six months of paid maternity and paternity leave, and bring-your-dog-to-work days. Traasdahl says games are also an active part of the Tapad experience. The company regularly hosts pingpong tournaments, foosball matches, partner game nights, exercise classes and intramural soccer, volleyball and softball.
“Despite having 13 offices in four countries, Tapaders stay connected through weekly all-team updates, video chats, conference calls, office visits and even our remote-in robot, Tappy. Each year, external office employees fly to Tapad’s headquarters in New York for an all-team company meeting and holiday party.”
