President and CEO Janice “Jan” Adams started JMA Solutions, LLC with a vision — to be a leader in management consulting for the federal government by providing top-quality, knowledgeable professionals and unparalleled customer service. Her commitment to this vision has led the company on a path to rapid growth. A decade after its founding, JMA now employs more than 200 professionals on over 20 prime contracts. “The common denominator for our success is our people. Between 2012 and 2015, JMA more than doubled its revenue, and the company’s full-time employee count has grown by 120 percent within the last three years. This kind of rapid growth presented a number of challenges, including financial ones. When Adams’ line of credit ended and she was waiting on a large payment from a customer, she took out a personal loan and wired JMA’s payroll directly to each employee’s bank. This experience helped shape her leadership style. To this day, she encourages creative thinking among her program managers to overcome daily challenges. As part of its growth journey, JMA also has given back to the community. Annually, the company donates between 5 and 7 percent of its net profits to charity events, especially education-related programs.
