IPlace USA is a multinational staffing firm specializing in contract staffing, permanent placement, managed services and managed projects. CEO Hank Levine originally focused on technology staffing by providing sourcing and recruiting services from iPlace’s international recruiting center in Pune, India. As the company grew, it added sales lead generation to help staffing firms find decision makers in target companies. IPlace works primarily for U.S. staffing firms and corporate HR departments. In 2014, the company moved its international recruiting center to the World Trade Center in Pune to accommodate 100 percent year-over-year growth.
Quick Tip: “Communication, transparency, risk tolerance and employee empowerment are key.”
Levine learned early that offshore recruitment centers are generally assumed to be sweat shops that exploit workers, and made it his mission to change this perception. IPlace implemented two-month-long intensive and competitive training programs, leadership development programs, and programs for innovation and corporate social responsibility. In addition, iPlace invested in a call center with a dedicated analytics team, which allowed the company to identify growth sectors and flag performance issues among the client population. Levine’s primary goal is to grow iPlace to 10,000 employees by the end of 2025. He also wants to build a minimum of one new business line each year.
