INSPIRING THE TEAM: For Kadrieka Maiden, who handles special projects for Events by Andre Wells, communication is the top priority when it comes to inspiring team members to be successful. “Always communicate anything and everything you’re not 80 percent confident about,” says Maiden. She believes there is no such thing as a dumb question, and there’s no one right way to do something. “There are just different methods to one goal,” says Maiden. Likewise, Maiden believes that different perspectives can help Events by Andre achieve its goals better.
FUN FACT: “I’m a little OCD and very domestic — I love to cook, clean and manage my household.”
OVERCOMING CHALLENGES: Though Maiden says she is faced with different challenges all the time as she works to help clients achieve their strategic goals, one of the biggest internal challenges she has faced has been learning to be a leader to her peers. For Maiden, this has meant learning the importance of communication when it comes to working with interns, vendors, staff members, volunteers, security and caterers. She has taken on this challenge by continuously respecting everyone at every level, and maintaining open communication.
STRONG RELATIONSHIP: Maiden says her relationship with the CEO of Events by Andre Wells “has evolved tremendously. … Andre has trusted me to independently manage accounts and make executive decisions.” This relationship, says Maiden, was born from trust and established reliability.
