LEM Products, Inc. specializes in manufacturing industrial identification that provides long-lasting readable graphics for use above ground, below ground, in water, in space and in extreme climate conditions. The company serves as the industrial identification partner for major electrical supply houses, nationwide utilities and global OEMs, creating custom industrial labels, tags and signs. Recently, CEO Maureen O’Connor worked to reset the tone for the entire company by focusing resources on strategic client development and internal process improvements. This has included, primarily, a deep attention to time management. “In production, in new product development, in sales and distribution, managing time [allows] LEM Products to reduce costs, gain capacity, cover more market segments and upgrade our technology. We are a time-based competitor,” says O’Connor.

O’Connor has also made efforts to implement other internal improvements, such as regional sales managers that support LEM Products’ most valuable clients, investments in advanced manufacturing technologies and educational programs for staff members on a variety of subjects. Ultimately, the goal of each of these improvements is to allow the company to grow through equipment investments, expansion of the team and the incorporation of new business programs. So far, these internal process improvements have driven down costs and positioned LEM Products to compete, says O’Connor.
