Xgility helps federal government clients and contractors migrate to cloud platforms such as Office 365, Azure and Amazon. The company “has been given the opportunity to help our customers in their mission,” says president Chris Hornbecker. For example, at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Xgility has built applications that help analysts fight commodities fraud. At the Department of the Interior, the company built a portal assisting with the cleanup efforts for the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
Words of Wisdom: “Build your company around your why. Use your why to develop your core values. Use your core values to develop leaders that will grow your business.”
Because Xgility has a workforce of 31 employees, the management team is able to have regular in-person meetings with everyone to measure satisfaction. “Our number-one measure of satisfaction is whether or not our team members would recommend Xgility as a place to work to their family and friends,” says Hornbecker.
The team at Xgility is involved in many nonprofits on a regular basis, including STEM programs at several elementary schools and high schools. The company also has been a volunteer and fundraiser for AFCEA Bethesda’s Night for the Children, benefiting Hope for Henry and House of Ruth. Several Xgility executives are involved in formal and informal mentoring programs as part of AFCEA, SharePoint Saturday and Grace Covenant Church.
