Pro-Sphere Tek, Inc. has grown both its revenue and employee count by about 100 percent each year for the past five years. An initial prime award from the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2013 has helped Pro-Sphere establish a long-term relationship with the agency, and the company was recently awarded six Presidential Recognition Awards on one of its VA Medical Center contracts.
Words of Wisdom: “Remember to enjoy the successes and appreciate all of the relationships you develop along the way.”
“The two factors that have contributed to Pro-Sphere’s growth are our people and culture,” says CEO Rodger Blevins. “To accommodate the exponential growth of the company during the last few years, one of the biggest challenges has been our ability to recruit new employees. … We have found that the solution is to invest in hiring and building an internal recruitment team, and challenge them with designing and implementing a holistic recruitment program.”
One of the toughest decisions Pro-Sphere had to make to keep growing was to give up equity by selling shares to several investors and establishing a board of directors. “As it turns out, this was one of the best decisions we made along the way,” says Blevins. “It provided working capital to fund the rapid growth, and at the same time … created governance that serves as a check and balance to ensure we are making the best business decisions for the betterment of the company.”
