Committing to wellness: Ardent Credit Union, formerly known as Sb1 Federal Credit Union, recently underwent a complete rebrand and culture shift. As part of that process, the organization also decided to revamp its wellness program. The new program is more comprehensive and rewards employees for participation in a number of different activities, including health risk assessments, weight management, on-site nutrition counseling and stress management.
FUN FACT: With the advice of Ardent Credit Union’s on-site nutritionist and the help of a personal trainer, one employee has lost 70 pounds, and has reduced his waistline by seven sizes.
Special perks: Employees participating in Ardent Credit Union’s program are encouraged to hit daily and monthly goals so everyone is eligible to receive an up to $50 reimbursement for a fitness tracker of their choice. All activities employees participate in translate to points, and those points are tracked annually. Those who reach 25 points earn a credit toward their next year’s premium. Those who exceed the 25-point target are entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of three Hand and Stone gift cards.
Solid results: “We have not been able to determine the exact ROI of this program to date, but we are very encouraged by the response and results we have seen so far,” says Rob Werner, president and CEO of Ardent Credit Union. “We have already created a buzz.”
