Though declining reimbursements in healthcare have provided a constant challenge for Kennedy Health, the company has grown and succeeded by never losing focus on patient care, and constantly working to improve operations. Over the past decade, Kennedy Health has seen significant growth, due in part to its expansion of services at its hospitals and through its ambulatory services. President and CEO Joseph W. Devine says Kennedy Health has treated more than 146,000 patients each year through its emergency departments. In addition, the company established its own physician group, Kennedy Health Alliance, which has improved access to care in the network, and has been nationally recognized for its patient safety and quality in several different areas.
Quick Tip: “It is all about relationships to achieve success in business and life. … It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice.”
One of Kennedy Health’s keys to success has been looking forward into the future and preparing for what’s to come. As part of this, the company announced plans to merge with Thomas Jefferson University. The merger will expand Kennedy Health’s services to the community and help it prepare for the future of healthcare delivery. “This planned partnership will allow us to continue to elevate our clinical services and provide more programs for the people of South Jersey,” says Devine.
