Acclaim Systems Inc. provides application development and system integration to government and commercial clients. One such client is the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Acclaim manages the entire election and voter registration for all 67 counties. In 2014, after having Acclaim manage the process since 2009, Pennsylvania gave a competing company the opportunity to execute the project. After only three months, the state decided to give the project back to Acclaim. “Without the expertise of Acclaim, the state reverted back to a time where it was handled manually, which was inefficient,” says president and CEO Kailash Kalantri.

Retention is one of the major factors that have helped Acclaim in its push for excellence. Kalantri says the company has several employees who have been with the company for more than 15 years — a novelty in the IT industry. “We hire and train the best candidates we can find,” says Kalantri. “Our goal is to retain and hire qualified people. Once you have the right people, you’re able to easily manage the work efficiently and exceed expectations.” In addition, Kalantri says, Acclaim wins its bids because it is not only efficient, but works to provide services at a reduced cost. When Acclaim won the contract for the Pennsylvania election process, it was able to cut costs by 40 percent.
