Canon USA is a leading provider of consumer, business-to-business and industrial digital imaging solution to the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean. Ellen Pitchford, vice president and general manager of the digital marketing services division, moved to New York from California in 2005 to take on the responsibility of maintaining the corporate internet. She also maintains the extranets that support the company’s dealer channels and all official social media networks for Canon USA.

The digital marketing services division was created in January 2015 to support social media and ecommerce initiatives throughout the Americas. Under Pitchford’s leadership, the department has grown from four people to more than 40. “I strive daily to create an environment where everyone is engaged and energized,” she says. “We create a lot of opportunities for our employees, because who wouldn’t want to be in a digital space these days?”
Pitchford also leads the company’s ecommerce initiative. Direct sales is a major strategic initiative for Canon USA and has grown steadily, making a significant contribution to Canon’s bottom line. Beyond her contributions to Canon, Pitchford gives back to the community as part of the Long Island Women’s Collaborative. “We are starting an affinity group for women in innovation, or women in technology, and we plan to host the first event for that affinity group at our Canon headquarters,” she says.
