DONE DEAL: In 2013, Trepoint, Inc. acquired BARC Communications, a 25-year-old promotional marketing agency. In the process of that acquisition, Trepoint also helped BARC add digital marketing services to its offerings. “In doing so, we were able to secure our second-largest account, Trinchero Family Estates,” says Bill Carmody, founder and CEO of Trepoint. Trinchero’s portfolio of wine brands includes Sutter Home and Menage A Trois. Trepoint and BARC supported Trinchero through social media as well as in-store retail and event marketing.

BIG IMPACT: The strength of Trepoint and BARC’s combined services has given both a competitive advantage, says Carmody. “Even though Trepoint was founded in 2008, my background includes 22 years in digital marketing. When combined with 25 years of BARC Communications’ traditional promotional marketing expertise, we created a stellar combination of online and offline marketing integration.” As more companies look to one agency for omni-channel marketing, Trepoint has been able to compete for that business. Internally, the acquisition “allowed our team to cross-pollinate with the BARC team to really understand each other’s strengths and services. Externally, to our clients, it allowed us to do boot camps and cross training” on how to combine digital and physical marketing, says Carmody.
