Co-founder and Managing Partner
“When Patrick [Thean] and I founded the firm 10 years ago, we really thought hard about culture and core values, and have made every hiring decision based on them,” says Cindy Praeger, co-founder and managing partner of Rhythm Systems. “We are lucky to have a 95-percent employee retention rate and smart people who enjoy the journey. I attribute the success of our company to our culture. We’ve created a culture where people can grow and create their own path.”
Quick Tip: “I never hire someone whom I can’t learn from. I learn things from my team every day, and it’s helped me bring out
the best in them.”
Praeger actively coaches Rhythm System’s sales team to ensure the company meets its goals. “My main goal is to grow the business from 100 to 1,000 customers,” she says. “I’m currently focused on growth moves to take the company to the next level.” Praeger also manages the company’s day-to-day operations, corporate strategy and marketing. When it comes to giving back, Praeger is especially passionate about education.
“Over the past 10 years, I’ve been working with leaders in the Charlotte school system to provide better education,” she says. “I’m most proud of my work in helping a Charlotte school principal implement a grant won by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to convert a large high school into five smaller, theme-based schools. Today, I continue my work with schools by mentoring student athletes on my son’s basketball team. I help the students who are having a hard time meeting the grade eligibility.”
