PULLING CUSTOMERS IN
More than 16,500 customers in some 90 countries use HubSpot’s software, services and support to transform their customer interactions. “The ‘why’ behind HubSpot came from a simple observation: The way people shop and buy had radically changed, but businesses hadn’t changed with it,” says Brian Halligan, co-founder and CEO of HubSpot. “Marketers and salespeople were interrupting the lives of prospects and customers with outdated tactics like cold calling, spam email and direct mailing. All of this in a time when hundreds of millions of people lived online on social media via smartphones, tablets and computers.” HubSpot’s founders realized that strategies like blogging, search engine optimization and social media marketing could pull customers in, on platforms they were already engaging with.
Quick Tip “At HubSpot, we think HEART (Humble, Effective, Adaptable, Remarkable and Transparent) plays a defining role in whom we hire and what effective leadership looks like.”
As the inbound methodology has spread, HubSpot opened five offices on four continents, and made its marketing platform available in six languages. “Since international passion for inbound marketing has risen, we’ve integrated localization into our own marketing strategy, and given our customers tools and information necessary to do the same,” says Halligan.
