Elizabeth A. Tucker
President and CEO
When Elizabeth A. Tucker helped establish KNF&T Staffing Resources in 1983, it was her hope that the company would provide a more consultative approach to finding the best candidates for clients. Tucker says that by focusing on long-term partnerships, KNF&T has become a premier staffing firm in Massachusetts, and has helped candidates achieve their career aspirations. “What could be better than that,” she says.
Quick Tip: “Studies show that companies with a diverse and inclusive workforce have not only a competitive advantage, but also perform better financially.”
Tucker has dealt with and managed the challenge of balancing the demands of her career with raising a family, but one of her greatest professional challenges came when she bought out her last business partner in 2011 to own 100 percent of the company. Tucker’s business partner had faced a series of personal tragedies that led to her decision to move on from the company. Tucker brought in contacts from a women’s leadership group that helped to coach both parties through the transition. Though the career move was daunting to begin with, Tucker says it’s the best professional move she has made.
Since KNF&T’s founding, Tucker has always pushed the importance of giving back to the Boston community. She created the Staff-on-Standby program, which provides temporary staff to nonprofits, and regularly supports organization that mirror KNF&T’s philanthropic mission of assisting women and children in transition, like Crossroads and The Jimmy Fund. Additionally, KNF&T encourages employee volunteer days, holds toy drives around the holidays and often donates clothing to various organizations.
