Committing to wellness: Advanced Radiology started its wellness program in January 2015 to encourage employees to take control of their health. “We see our wellness program as a launch pad that employees can use to meet their health and wellness goals,” says senior vice president Kenneth E. Ames. Though the program is still in its early years, Advanced Radiology hopes to inspire a large percentage of its employees to participate.
FUN FACT: As part of the Walkadoo program, employees can challenge each other to walking competitions via social media.
Special perks: Advanced Radiology’s wellness program consists of two elements: participation and biometric screening. The participation element is called Wellvolution, and encourages employees to earn points for competing in daily challenges or taking part in the company’s Walkadoo step-tracking program. By participating, employees become eligible to earn $150 in prepaid Visa gift cards. The biometric screening component, Know Your Numbers, gives employees the opportunity to earn up to $560 in annual premium rebates.
Solid results: Advanced Radiology has a goal of reaching 70 percent employee participation, and with less than two years under its belt, the program has hit the halfway mark, with 35 percent participation. As part of Walkadoo, employees are issued pedometers to monitor their steps. So far, almost every participant has reached the first threshold in the program, and has earned a $50 gift card as a result.
