One of the core values at 2 Griffins Design & Build is to act with honesty and integrity. “It is expected of all employees to take personal responsibility for their standard of behavior and for the decisions they make every day,” says Damien Griffin, director of operations. “Honesty and integrity must always be at the core of those decisions. Both of these attributes are held in the highest regard at 2 Griffins.”
Family hires are held to the same standards as any new hires on skills, experience, attitude, proven results, cognitive abilities, and habits, says Griffin. “Each of these categories is specifically defined for the position being interviewed for, and the scores of the individual are recorded for each item. All interviewers must score the applicant over 80 percent” before the applicant is considered for hiring.
Fun Fact: Despite growing into a multi-million dollar business, 2 Griffins is still located on the same farmhouse property where it started and Damien Griffin grew up.
All decisions regarding 2 Griffins’ culture and values are collectively determined by all the core members of the company. “The culture is that everybody perpetuates our values by policing themselves and each other,” says Griffin. “Nobody lets any conflict, however small, go more than 24 hours without addressing it directly with the person.”
“The business is the legacy,” says Griffin. “It is bigger than any one person, including the family owners. We support our local community in many ways, as well as several charities.”
