LEADERSHIP AND MENTORING: “I inspire people by making them part of the solution,” says Jan Ozga, president of NFM Lending. “Regardless of your position within NFM Lending, everyone needs to ring the register either directly or indirectly and must offer solutions.” NFM Lending’s corporate location houses 85 employees, and Ozga personally speaks to each one every day.

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES: “With a company of over 330 people, it’s important to understand that the personalities are many and varied,” says Ozga. “ My biggest challenge was finding the middle ground between sales and operations, while focusing on service and profitability. If you aren’t willing to patiently listen to both sides of the problem, you are setting yourself up for either poor morale or loss of revenue. It’s about keeping opposing people within the same organization focused on the bigger picture and the great cause.”
DRIVING VALUE: “From the day I walked into NFM in 2007, it’s been about building culture, building predictable outcomes and finding the right people,” says Ozga. “You can have great products and great systems, but if you have unhappy people, you have a colossal failure waiting to happen.”
