Mann-Pak, Inc. supplies packaging products and services for the candy, bakery, dairy, home goods and industrial industries. In 2009, the company relocated to a larger facility to make room for a new flexo printing press — a significant investment to take on an entirely new market in flexible film packaging. “Our number-one challenge was to prove our capabilities to this new customer base, while learning as we go and trying to build this new market segment,” says Scott Manning, president of Mann-Pak. “After three years, we earned preferred printer status from three of the largest shrink-film manufacturers in the world. We then partnered with two of the largest flexible film distributors in the country, Shorr Packaging and Associated Packaging, to produce successful printing projects for Georgia Pacific, Biomet, Cellofoam and Safeway, just to name a few.”
Quick Tip: “You must be willing to put in the time and effort to outwork the competition.”
Due to recent sales growth, Mann-Pak has had to add seven manufacturing and three office positions. It’s been a focus for the company to make those new employees feel like an integral part of sustaining and maintaining its customer base. “We are focused on providing a clean, safe work environment and providing the proper cross-training necessary to keep pace with industry technology,” says Manning. Mann-Park also is working on a profit-sharing program that will reward employees at all levels for their work on behalf of the company.
